Someone replied to my post and I got a notification of course and we had a few messages back and forth. Then someone else replied to one of the other guys comments which greatly added to the conversation but I do not get a notification of this. I only discovered it accidentally and now I am wondering how many comments I have missed in the past.

I suggest a notification of any comment on any comment in a post you posted and maybe even just any post that you have commented on at all.

Maybe this option already exists and I just don't know.

I like the idea. If I could make a suggestion, maybe it could be in the form of a 'track' (from here) button that is at the top of each post (to track the whole post) as well as on each 'comment' (to track the comment thread from there). It could apply to anyone that clicks it, or perhaps only users above a certain level.
