Someone replied to my post and I got a notification of course and we had a few messages back and forth. Then someone else replied to one of the other guys comments which greatly added to the conversation but I do not get a notification of this. I only discovered it accidentally and now I am wondering how many comments I have missed in the past.

I suggest a notification of any comment on any comment in a post you posted and maybe even just any post that you have commented on at all.

Maybe this option already exists and I just don't know.

Maybe the (new) indicator would be more helpful if it wouldn't show up for replies I've already looked at or even replied to by clicking on the blue notification bubble. Never gave it much thought, tbh.

Either way, I'm pretty happy with the site behavior as it is in that regard.

It only gets reset when you open the comment threads, because the blue notification bubble on the envelope (PM box) shows all the notifications, not just comment replies in your posts.

Also, when you open the comment replies section in your PM and upvote comment replies or mark them as read. the count will decrease accordingly. Same goes for post replies.
