NSFW is a blunt tool, a big hammer that has suited many parts of the internet just fine for decades. There seems to be some understanding of what "work" would deem appropriate or not, even if it wouldn't matter at one's particular workplace.

Is there merit in adding more grades to the scale?

  • G
  • PG(-13)
  • R
  • X

Theoretically there are no users under 13 on the net because of whatever that law is.

Thoughts?

NSFW is pretty much meaningless now. Saying there are only two genders is NSFW. You can pretty much slap it on anything. A system that is more descriptive would be cool but the movie rating system still falls short. Just tell me what I'm getting into by clicking on the link. Porn? Violence? TDS inducing material?
