I would say that seeing the same text walls over and over would make the comments section less enjoyable and much more cluttered. If this idea were implemented, I'd like it to be less intrusive and require a click to see the additional content. A button on the comment that says "See Factoid Notes" or something akin to the community notes on X but less intrusive. Maybe even a way to toggle between seeing regular comments and "factoid notes". It's good to have both, but seeing the same factoids over and over again gets tiresome when you have already been made aware of them. I don't want to relive the ASCII art macros in the Digg comments again...

Agree, a lot of repetitive "every aspect of" shit already.

Let's do a "Would you like to know more?" button

Yes, that's what it should be! I like the reference to Starship Troopers it evokes as well.

So check it out this is my retraction and apology. I got defensive and reacted before I even saw what you posted and interpreted it.

Also I ended that sentence in a preposition. I'm a bastard.

Where should that button be?

Shit... it all goes back to redundancy doesn't it. Not all my ideas are good ones. But I'm always free to share them lol.

It's a good idea and it just needs to be implemented in a way to keep from becoming a nuisance to veteran Poalrs. We need a way to get the information out to new users or users who haven't seen such useful content while keeping the redundant info from getting in the way. Of course all of this means work for AOU so he is the decider on this matter but the idea is a good and useful one.
