sometimes a user replies with a comment that is then read, then the user adds valuable (or useless) text to said comment. the edit can be easily be missed since it triggers no notification.

suggestion: when a user edits a reply to let's say a comment of mine then mark it and unread in my inbox. (Makes sense because I haven't read their edit)

I agree within reason, like I don't want american_thunkwad spamming weeks old comments just to notify me about his most recent beliefs on whatever random topic jews are interested in.
