yes.

sometimes a user replies with a comment that is then read, then the user adds valuable (or useless) text to said comment. the edit can be easily be missed since it triggers no notification.

suggestion: when a user edits a reply to let's say a comment of mine then mark it and unread in my inbox. (Makes sense because I haven't read their edit)

So simple it's brilliant.

No way, I stealth edit your shit to make you look like a Katy Perry fan.

Honestly, I had to look up Katy Perry because I've no idea about who she is. I'm not up to date with these retarded celebrities I love Katy Perry

Also, show what the changes were

I agree within reason, like I don't want american_thunkwad spamming weeks old comments just to notify me about his most recent beliefs on whatever random topic jews are interested in.

I bet that deleted comment explained everything.

By the time you read your reply, you probably see all the latest edits. It points to the database; not keeping old copies around like at&t apparently has me texting my high school sweetheart 2 decades ago.

probably. my suggestion doesn't need any edit history though. right now I've read your comment so it's marked as read in the inbox. problem is if you edit your comment in one hour then I'll not get updated about it. my suggestion is just to mark your comment as unread again in my inbox when you edit it, nothing more than that really. So in best case (depending on how the code works) switching one boolean essentially or setting the read_at timestamp to NIL or something.
