Branching from the good discussion in this thread, we have an opportunity to tinker with how content is presented and sorted on Poal, and in so doing possibly make a feature unique to Poal.

Ways to sort posts:

  • Net votes (+/-)
  • Upvotes (+ only)
  • No. of comments
  • No. of views
  • Most recently commented (bump - chan)
  • Least recent
  • Algorithm of multiple attributes (reddit)

It may be possible to allow all of these sorting options, or experiment with how things run with a forced order among the above, or have settings for user choice. After a while it would be visible to admin how users opt to see Poal and how those choices affect the type of discussion here.

I would like to point out that none of this is peticularly easy to implement, that said I am all for doing it, I personally like the idea of adding options and letting users decide how they want to look at it the best.
