I don't know if this is a good idea or not, so don't be afraid to respond negatively. I'm a big boy.

I suggest Poal place a limit on sub creations by new users. Meaning that before a new user can create a sub, they have a minimal amount of activity here. Maybe something like you need to be at least Level 6 ... as we now have with being able to see up and down vote details ... before you can create a new sub.

This would allow new users to acclimatize to Poal and see what we're all about before they jump in. To become active contributors here, rather than someone just looking for an escape valve from elsewhere. It'll help get good new users interested in Poal, rather than just reestablishing some empire they had on whatever forum, which has been forced out.

Level number isn't as important, and again, this may not be a 'great' idea, I'll let you guys chew on it. But am just tossing this out for consideration. But consider a minimal limit for new users on this.

To me the best thing here is the informal no down votes suff. I rarely if ever down voted anything but spam anywhere, but some people get all bent outta shape over that. This is better and less stressful for all I think.
