Maybe a button to "Remind Me" with option to remind everyone on the thread that you click the button, select a date and voila, when that date rolls around you get a notification in your mail.

Good point, I was thinking more along the lines of not every thread in the post, just the ppl in that particular comment thread. But still, your point is valid. I would be happy with just a remind me button.
