It appears they are trying to hit the upvote arrow from within a post, but the sidebar button is in the way. They are trying to hit the sliver of space of a few pixels that are to the right of the sidebar button that would activate the upvote, but fight with getting rid of the sidebar that keeps activating instead.
edit: I think it is not an IdeaForPoal they are posting, but a report of an issue that should be in /s/poaldev.

This topic has already been discussed and I'm working on a different way for mobile sidebar buttons.
This could be the answer. If I had dainty little lady-like fingers, I’d probably not have this issue.
Damn muscly fingers with swollen knuckles from hard work. It's a struggle for some to get the screen to even activate by touch due to dried, cracked, calloused finger tips.

Should the site ever grow a lot in activity, I wonder what it would be like. As of now, it still feels like a quaint community with a sheriff who seems to be genuinely interested in this place.

You're welcome. It seemed a correct assessment based on the context given by the title, so I'm glad I guessed correctly. However, I was still thinking there was a chance it was something completely different that I wasn't getting.
I’ve mentioned this issue more than once. The answer has always been me having “sausage fingers.” Earlier this morning I was having a real frustrating time trying to upvote so I decided to make that visual I shared. I kept the mic on to add in the sounds of frustrated tapping.
The homepages got a huge improvement with the relocating of the arrows. The post pages still present this issue.
In the meantime, I’m going to figure out how to make my hands smaller and more faggity.
