And it would work like it does when you click on view all subs and start typing in the search and it instantly starts showing matching results.

I'm aware of it. I mentioned being aware of it in the post.

My sausage fingers don't like the tiny hitbox and it requires being on the homepage, tapping a tiny hitbox, scrolling all the way down, then entering search.

I have a need for speed.

You can bookmark the /subs endpoint, the sub search is in there (right sidebar for desktop and bottom of the list for mobile).
