Scenario:

You don't like reddit.com, cnn.com, and foxnews.com links so you

  • Navigate to your account settings
  • Add those domains to a warn list
  • Save

Now, whenever a post appears with a link to a bad domain, a warning flair will be prepended to the post to let you know.

Alternatively, a user could select a pre-defined list like "Any non-archived link", "Any MSM news site" or whatever.

Flair concept: Could look similar to how non-https links are flaired. Example (pic8.co)

Edit: This idea came from a suggestion by @quit_google

Such a feature if added to poal will be done client-side (browser's local storage) to preserve user's privacy.

(Poal has no interest to know what's blocked (domains) by whom)

Make a new rank of admin that allows for this new rank to edit a submitted post's submission link and turn it into an archive link. The OP would lose half the submission real internet points when this happens. This would also require the functionality be developed of editing submission links. Which I know you don't have yet except modifying the DB directly.

Give this rank to me, @stupidbird the glownigger and even the nigger @picman (also a faggot).

I like the idea tbh, except:

Give this rank to me, @stupidbird the glownigger

I am not sure it is wise to give a glownigger the right to rewrite all the links in every post and comment on Poal to point to some CIA glownigger site of his choosing though. Imagine logging in to Poal one day and seeing every single link go to "adl .org/donate".

Image not understanding a site-enforced restriction to accepted archive sites.

He calls me a glownigger because he loves me. No homo.

[–] 1 pt

Good suggestion.

This hopefully would also raise incitaments for lazy niggers to archive their links, and raise incitaments for readers to point out that posters are lazy niggers.

Userscripts.

Or

There is an option for a global css file. Haven't tried it myself, but I'm sure it's doable. You could use css attribute selection to find matching links and color them.

Yes because we are so stupid, arent we. (no apostrophe)

You are pretty butthurt you accidentally clicked on a CNN link aren't you. Im sorry that happened to you. How terrible it must be to have to re love that momo over and over again in your head. Knowing you can never scrub your eyes clean.

No. It's just picman wants the quality of submission on Poal to go up. Not down. It's clear you want it to go down. It's clear you don't give a fuck about supporting jews. It's clear you don't belong here.

[–] -1 pt

I don't belong on poal because I don't support jews?

[–] 0 pt

Learn to read. That is precisely the opposite of what I wrote.

[–] 0 pt

lol I never click on cnn links

I bet you click on catbox links though. LOL

[–] 0 pt

Redpill me on catbox links

[–] 0 pt

catbox is sketchy. owner of the site used to communicate out about the site/etc.

catbox went down about a year ago without explanation for a few days then came up without any explanation either. Haven't heard anything from the owner since. Looked to me like the server was seized and is now being used as a honeypot.

Plus, the loli shit on catbox homepage is a nod to the content it's intended to serve.

I steer clear. Have it blocked in my hosts file

Step 1: Open C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

Step 2: Add this at the bottom of the file and save: 127.0.0.1 reddit.com 127.0.0.1 cnn.com 127.0.0.1 foxnews.com

Step 3: fuck off
