Poal allows for text to accompany a link post. Many times now I've wanted to add some text to a link-only post after making it, only to find that there is no button to edit the text portion of the post.

As far as I can tell the current behavior is:

  • If a link-only post also contains text, you can edit the text afterwards
  • If a link-only post was made without text, you can't add it in later

I'd like to be able to add text in later even if the post was initially made without any text.

The workaround is to make all link-only posts with some placeholder text in order to preserve the ability to edit it later.

It's been reported before and link-only post can't be edited afterwards to prevent abuse.

Alright--I guess I can still do the workaround.

The edit content is only valid if you have written something in it and plan on updating its content (like a megathread for live news).
