Because any newcomers are going to gravitate to the most generic name. This is why I asked if you've ever used shittit. Owners and mods of subs like this don't need to worry about people going to other subs because there'll always be replacments.

You are making a lot of personal assumptions without knowing how newcomers operate here.
And with all due respect, I think admins know better than you regarding newcomer's behavior.
Most of them are just posting in default subs that are showing up in their top bar or in /all/hot.
It's up to you to make an alternative sub and get it more popular.
