We actually have an algorithm for duplicate posts within the same sub. you can only repost the same link in a sub every 14 days or you'll get a warning with a link to the most recent repost. Regarding crossposting, we've been analyzing how poal is evolving and noticed an increase of duplicate posts in different subs. So we will probably come up with a solution that will ask a user if they want to crosspost when reposted on the same day. There's also a "related" button that will appear under a post's title (button bar) that will show a counter and link to all the posts that share the same url.
