The entire reason I'm making this thread is BECAUSE it is not a rule. That can't be used as a reason against it.
My opinion is it should be up to the sub owner/mods. You want this rule sitewide. If you want it in your subs, put it in the sidebar, otherwise, I think it's a bad idea to implement sitewide.

You want a blanket rule for many different subs regardless of the owner's/mod's wishes. I think this is something that should be left up to the owner/mod.
