That's already a feature for that:
Yeah I get it. That's different than what I'm suggesting. All this does is populate based on username. I'm suggesting allowing nicknames and if I were to give you the nuckname 'A' I could @!A which would @ you rather than if there were an account which had the username 'A'. This is why the new flag @! is necessary to avoid collisions between nicknames and usernames.
Not gonna happen. It's a waste of resources (queries will have to be made every single time someone will type @ in textarea).
Figured it would be resource intense.
