Yes you can reply from your inbox, but doing so will take you to the thread you replied in. Would be nice to be able to reply to several people while staying in the inbox.

Also messages appear as unread even after I reply to them. I have reported this before.

I second this. I could never understand why Throat (the underbelly of Poal) does this. I’ve already replied outside of the thread. Why would I want to go into the thread?
