Can we get a block button like the block sub button, but when you click on a profile then there is a button that just blocks the user from be ing able to comment on your post or tag you and you don't see anything from them.

People can say what they want but I don't have to listen to it.

If this feature already exists can it be made easier to find or use?

If you block me I'll just swap to my other accounts.....

Seems like a restriction of speech; what about blocking notifications and PMs from "blocked" users

[–] 3 pts

Free speech doesn't mean that I have to listen to it

Which is why the notifications would be turned off. The comment IMHO should be included to advance discussion. If the comment does not advance discussion then the local community within the thread can use the down arrow or call BS.

So if someone comments on your post saying that you are a tranny and you molested kids it should stay? How would that advance discussion? To me you should be able to block shit like that

What how? Where did you get this technology. I don't want to read if I can just listen to comments or articles. How what's the app called I must know. Can you change the voice? What happens if there spelling mistakes?

So like a "mute" option?

[–] 2 pts

Yeah....trying to avoid harassment with PMs while still allowing speech in threads

It was hugely popular on voat... there is no block button in real life, but we can tell them to shut the fuck up.

In real life I can punch some one in the face for talking shit

There are consequences for that. I don't like the mute idea because it becomes a hug box. Funnyjunk is right wing but the liberals with an agenda make accounts and mute anyone who disagrees with them then you get entire threads where only certain people can be heard.

Maybe there's a middle ground where the mute feature blocks PMs and disables notifications for pings, but you can still see the muted user's posts and comments normally on the site. @pmyb2

If they want to have a discussion from one point of view I see no problem with that. It doesn't stop others having other conversations from a different view point in a different thread.

Forcing someone to listen to someone else just because it's a different view point is like saying you can't have an all white or all black fraternity because you need diversity
