Explain how it is necessary if it can be "gotten around". It's more resources for the server for each query. Most users blocking users are moving on and don't ever interact with the blocked ones. Those who do are the shill and trolls looking for drama and will eventually get flagged by the algorithm because they are emotionally unstable, then they will obviously create alts to continue to harass users and will end up breaking the ToS. Many tried and failed to get around it.
