I think this is fair, especially with the new blocking changes for the snowflakes.

This would allow users to make several posts in sequence without others feeling like they are spamming the site.

No private/anon subs will ever exist on poal.

[–] 0 pt

They wouldn't be private, you'd just to have to know about them or go looking. For instance, they would show up when searching sub names or posts.

I don't like anon subs either. But I also don't like how mostly everyone views /all instead of setting up subscriptions - and if I started mass-posting in one of my subs there'd be complaints.

I guess you are worried about someone setting up a jailbait sub and not knowing about it?

[–] 0 pt

Your guess is inaccurate.

We've decided from the start that anon and private subs will not be added. Poal is an open free speech place. If you want to hide (private or anon) from the public there are plenty of places and ways to do it.

I would hate that. I like to browse by all/new and having content hidden away would suck ass. Can't people block subs and curate their own front page if they think the posting habits of particular subs are spammy?

Very interesting. I just noticed you commented on my post and you also downvoted this post in /s/trees without commenting.

Looks like you would be a user which reinforces my idea!!!

You can stop shouting. I don't recall dv'ing that post at all. I browse on mobile usually and might have hit it by accident.

Ah I hate sail foams. I just found it interesting I was looking for posts that were dv'd in /s/trees and your was the only one I found.

The feature could be turn on and off. So people viewing all could know about the sub and visit it if they are interested.

Can't people block subs if they think the posting habits there are spammy?

Sure, but I thinking blocking subs (other than the Q-tard subs) is not the way I want to experience this site. Also, I don't like browsing /all all the time. I prefer having Poal generate a page for me based on my subscriptions.

So posters could flag their posts with this "It's not spam but I could see how you might think it is" tag, and then browsers could toggle the ability to block/unblock those posts from appearing in /all?

That would work but seems unnecessarily complex compared to just excluding subs you don't like or that have spammy posting tendencies from your feed.

I imagine it would be in the sub settings, so the owner could toggle it if they wanted to drop a bunch of posts in quick succession. On Voat there were a few subs I noticed that would not show up on /all. v/trees was one, which I understand because there is a lot of anti-weed users and posts might get downvoted to oblivion if they showed up on /all.

Or you can go build your own site and add any features like this that you desire. All is for all not some.

Fuck that noise.

All is for all not some

Some faggots here can block me from voting or commenting on their posts, I think it is fair I can block them from seeing mine unless they go looking for them!

Building your own site solves that problem for you, but you won't do the work to make it happen and will instead just whine about how unfair it is on Poal. Be the change you want or GTFO.

[–] 0 pt

I'm not whining, I am asking for a feature that was available on Voat.

[–] 0 pt

@PMYB2 is there a good reason not to implement this? Apologize for the ping, but I'd like this idea to get serious consideration, unless you think this feature would be a threat to the site.

Sounds like censorship.

[–] 0 pt

How so? Self-censorship maybe!

The posts would still be visible to everyone, you would just have to go to that sub to view them, instead of browsing /all.
