I like the current system. You give folks enough rope to hang themselves, then they have their scarlet letter for proper public shaming. It seems to have the desired effect so far.

Yeah, it's mostly the niggerish and pointfag types that will brigade here. I don't like the pointfags, they're more concerned with the "score" than the discussion.
