If I want to list off numbers, that are not in any particular order, Poal will convert them to numbers in order. So If I want to write
These are the first three odd numbers:
1. One
3. Three
5. Five
then Poal will convert this to:
These are the first three odd numbers:
One
Three
Five
Check the source of this post if you think I just typed in "1, 2, 3". I didn't, but there it is, converted unecessarily.
Even worse, Poal will do this even if you list only one number.
So let's say (as an example) someone asks me "How many of your parents are still alive?" and I try to answer, curtly:
2. In other words, both of them.
This will be converted to:
Again, check the source - I typed 2, but it became 1.
This is totally unnecessary, can render certain comments incomprehensible, like this one, and really doesn't seem to add anything in terms of functionality.
Please discuss in the comments if you think there is any reason for this automatic conversion of numbers. It's one thing to be able to highlight separated sentences, hit a markdown key, and automatically number them. It's another thing to change the numbers that users are typing.
This isn't a unique-to-Poal issue, but it seems like one easily fixed.
Let me know your thoughts.
If you wish to report a bug, please do so on /s/Poaldev.
The official sub created to allow the Poal community to suggest ideas on how Poal can be improved while at the same time allowing people to comment and vote on suggested ideas.
This will make it easier for people to hear what the community has to say and to keep a record of what people wish for.
Keep your ideas short, if possible, narrow it down to one sentence. Anything longer than that will likely go unnoticed. Be straightforward.
