In the mail view, it would be great if I can see the entire tree for the thread I am replying to.

As in, I click "reply" and the entire thread is shown. Not all comments, just the one complete conversation tree. Many times I've had to dig around using the browsers search feature to find a string in the conversation so I can expand it to see the history so I can properly call someone a cunt while quoting what they said a while ago. This would be a nice addition in my opinion.

All the comments means the root.

So you are saying that there’s no way to view only the current thread I’m replying to? And you are also saying that you don’t think that’s necessary.

Whereas I think it IS far superior than the current system of having to click parent 20 times to show the whole thread to which I’m replying.

Ok, let's assume there's such an option.

How are you gonna find the comment you're meant to reply to in a thread that contains dozens, if not hundreds, comments? And I'm not even talking about sub threads.

Do you now understand why such an option doesn't bring any advantage?

Uh, no. The comment I’m replying to is usually the most recent, and as per almost every other website with comments, when you click parent or show all comments, then it shows you THAT comment thread.

Why are you pretending that’s not usual?
