reddit (old.reddit.com anyway) has the option to "send submission replies to inbox" that is default to being on, I usually uncheck that when making submissions there (I contribute to a fringe sub and try not to show my power level) - I check up on my submissions and read all the comments so I don't need them in my inbox
are you asking for the option to turn off submission or comment replies, or both?

I want notifications to happen by default. But when I make a post that I know is going to get a lot of cuck replies but I have no interest in the cuckversation I'd love to be able to turn off notifications.
