Almost every day some post is stickied to the front page with a green "Announcement" flair. The range of posts that are stickied is somewhat diverse. All this is fine. It is reminiscent of Atko's featured subverse feature (which Poal also has in the sidebar) or Putt's stickying of the guitar threads.

I am sure there are times where @PMYB2 or @AOU make actual announcements, probably to /s/Announcements, and in these cases the "Announcement" sticky would be entirely fitting. But right now, for example, there's just a link to a YouTube video stickied as an "Announcement". I suggest Poal keep this functionality, but when sticking "mere content", a "Sticky" flair should be used instead, or something similar.

Change the text of the sticky from "Announcement" to "Sticky", at least for stickies where the post is not actually an announcement.

It's been that way for more than 2 years and no one complained.

The community knows an [announcement] is a global sticky.

That doesn't mean a more ideal option does not exist. It's just a matter of changing one string, I would think, for the sake of clarity / accuracy.

I'm sure if people were polled most just wouldn't care. It isn't a big deal. but it's also a simple change and the meaning of "announcement" implies something other than what is currently being used.
