On Voat when I wanted to post an mp4 and have a thumbnail for my submission, I would first post the thumb for the link, then edit the submission quickly afterward to link to the mp4.
I can't do that here. Can you make changes to Poal to accommodate? If you don't want to make the links editable after submitting, maybe include the option to link to the image you want to use as the thumbnail?
This would also be a workaround for sites that make changes preventing Poal from generating a thumbnail, like youtube recently did (I don't know if this impacted Poal but it did prevent Voat from generating thumbs for youtube links).
