While I am in favour of an indefinite content width (en.everybodywiki.com), the width of embedded videos should be limited to ~600px to be able to resize the video when zooming out and to avoid obstruction from being too large.

Screenshots here (pic8.co).

  1. Embedded video on simulated 4K monitor.
  2. 640px limit. Video does not obstruct view on post list. If I need full screen, I can access it through the full screen button of the embedded player (or maybe an additional toggle next to it?)
  3. Current view on 1080p. Still requires nearly entire screen height.

I still don't get what your issue is.

It is that I can not resize the video's appearance size on the monitor by zooming in/out of the page.

But it does adapt to the width of the "expando-master" div.

So if you zoom in/out it should be adapting its size relative to its parent div width. (It does it here on different browsers)
