Problems with Gab.ai
- Gabai is a Jewish name.
- Gabbai means assistant Rabbi.
- They have created a new browser based on Brave which is a bit thefty even if Brave is open source.
- Their dissenter browser uses Bitcoin instead of Brave's BAT. I don't care much about either or know about BAT, but I KNOW that Bitcoin core has been subverted and sabotaged from the inside.
- Gab censors some right wing content and some users have been imprisoned.
- Most importantly: You can no longer get JUST the Gab dissenter extension for firefox or firefox branches such as pale moon or waterfox. Not even from Gab's website, they only allow you their full browser.
What I suggest for a Poal extension
- Designed for firefox based browsers such as waterfox and firefox itself if not hard code blocked.
- Must be offered as independent download as Mozilla and Google WILL ban such a plugin from their extension stores (as they did with gab dissenter).
- Plugin will automatically create a Poal link post if users comment on a website. Comment(s) will be put into this thread.
- Plugin "simply" reuses Poal by displaying the above mentioned Poal thread in a html DIV element at the bottom of the commented page or perhaps when a collapsed Poal bar/button is clicked.
As far as I can tell Gab dissenter is no longer a good option and I don't see any alternatives so this could be an open niche and good opportunity for Poal.
What do you think? Good idea? Doable?
