Some threads, especially megathreads, could still be relevant after months.
Also, it is possible that someone finds a thread via Internet search, and there is something left to say.
It should be an option set by a subverse moderator for the entire subverse default, or alternatively individually for specific posts.
Perhaps you're right. Though I suppose there are technical limitations.
I just found out that Reddit Gold Subverses (only accessible to Reddit Gold or Reddit Premium users) can have threads there that last beyond six months.
This means that it could be a resource issue.
Although Twitter tweets have an indefinite lifespan (people are still replying to “just setting up my twttr (2006-03-20) (twttr.com)”.
