I understand the need for this in a case where say, user A submits something to X sub and then user B tries to submit the same thing. It's a good way to tip of user B that this has already been done.
However, how about in a sub like TIL? Say user A submits something using a link to Wikipedia and then user B wants to submit something different, but can't because of the "This link was recently posted on this sub" thingy? Sure, you could say you've got to find another source, but sometimes there isn't.
The only sub I can see this being a thing would be TIL, but there may be others, like maybe music ones where they submit videos maybe?
How about having the message show on the first click as a warning, but then being able to submit it if you try a second time, like an over ride?
Any thoughts?
On a side note, thank you for keeping the igloos open for us. Some of need an outlet to post. It prevents us from breaking out of our "special rooms" and breaking into nuclear facilities and chewing through the wiring, thus detonating things and blowing the world! Though I have to admit the flash would certainly brighten things up in here...
