The charging screen is the battery indicator that shows up when plugging the charger while the device is switched off. Pretty much all phones that are not iPhones have such a feature.
On older mobile phones, it displayed a plain battery icon with a graphically drawn charging state.
In the mid-2010s, phones started to show the battery percentage and charging animations (e.g. wave animation on Samsung phones) on the charging screens.
It would be good if it also displayed:
- Battery terminal voltage
- Battery terminal current
- Voltage at USB port
- Current at USB port
- Charging wattage
- Whether fast charging is enabled (bonus: which exact technology is used, e.g. Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0, 3.0, MediaTek PumpExpress, etc.)
