Depends on shot size and material type. Hard to tell distance in the video for certain, but I would have had my bead just off the head, possibly 2 beads if the first shot missed, using bismuth shot. lead and steel pattern differently, obviously.

The camera has a narrow field of view and makes everything look closer. He was out far enough for a decent lead.
