Hum. I'm going to opine that Hunter will go down for this and Joe won't be touched. That the narrative will be that Joe was never involved and that Hunter lied about the "big guy", and that the demand for the prosecutor to be fired was a coincidence or corruption via other means. And the problem is this is sufficiently plausible to count as "reasonable doubt".
