Sounds like it's time for AMC to receive the Bud Light treatment.

I've been practicing that with theaters for years. It's insanely overpriced for what amounts to an honestly terrible experience. I'm not paying $30 to sit in a crowded room with a bunch of strangers and fat people grunting and coughing every time they have to shift in their seat.

Time for some James O'Keeffe style under cover videos. More than just reports of people saying stuff. Film them doing it, then report that they said stuff and when AMC denies, you have the proof to not only prove they did it but they lie about it (guilty mind).

We saw it in locally owned (and packed) theater opening weekend. They failed to lower the house lights. I went out and Karened the manager and informed Captain Crunch we were seated with the expectation to be darkened. Took 'em another 3 minutes before they accomplished their appointed modest task and dropped the fucking house lights. I initially chalked it up to double digit IQ movie theater employee ineptitude, but am now tin foil hatting the possibility it was the opening salvo of an agreed upon stratagem.

Seems shit like that seems to have been occurring right across the board - the lame AC excuse has been reported in multiple theatres - despite the AC working in all the other areas of the building complex, fire alarms going off in the first 5 mins of the film showing and when patrons finally get back in after it being declared a false alarm only like half the number bothered sticking around to go back in, people ordering tickets online only to find out the morning of the show their tickets have been cancelled and refunded with no reason but when they call the theatre the screening is still on etc etc etc ... totes just a cohencidence.

It sounds more like individual lefty employees acting on their own rather than AMC directing it themselves. If AMC didn't want you to see it they wouldn't be showing it, just like the other movie theater chains.

lol Even if your theory was true, who do you think hired them?

The local managers of each individual theater. Upper management doesn't hire the grunts. They never see them. Bare in mind, if AMC didn't want people to see this movie they simply wouldn't show it, like every other theater chain. The movie itself was finished in 2018 and, until AMC came along, nobody wanted to show it. They did manage to make a deal with one company a few years ago, but that company ended up getting bought out by Disney, who immediately shelved the movie. And even now, despite the movie's success, no other theater chain wants to show it.

Or maybe they've learned the GetWokeGoBroke lesson from other companies and prefer to show it instead of facing a backlash and losing tons of money.
