It depends on how you define slavery. In my opinion, the Chinese people are enslaved by a relatively small elite class of fascists (not communists). Their lives are rigidly controlled, they get to keep only what the oligarchy and its regime allows, and everything they have can be taken away from them at a moment's notice.

But if you think about it, these same factors apply to Western nations. Do you really believe that you own anything, when the government can come and take it away from you without notice? The police confiscate cars and houses. Trudeau shut down the bank accounts of protesters. PayPal or YouTube can close out your accounts without explanation. Anyone can be "swatted" at any time, not by trolls but by agents of the fascist elite.

In the recent past we have been allowed, by government, to keep just so much as encourages us to produce for them at the maximum level. But the rules are changing, and the elite do not see a need today to allow us to keep anything. Hence Klaus Schwab's statement, "You will own nothing."

This is not the redistribution of wealth, this is the fascist elite saying "We are going to take everything away from you, because we can, and you can do nothing to stop us even as you watch us doing it." Our very lives are in the hands of these monsters. How are we not slaves?

I'd say the actual number is way higher....
