Reminds me of the time I crossed paths with a sickly groundhog. Came stumbling out of the underbrush. Hind quarters dripping with maggots. He'd alternate between what looked like pleas for help, to charges of murderous aggression. I just so happened to have a harbor freight machete near by. Only one of us was walking away.
