Pretty sure fur composition does more for heat retention than color. See; Polar Bears, Siberian Tigers, Snow Owls... Any white animal living in snow. The downy undercoat with a white outercoat is much more useful due to camouflage than the small amount of heat retention of a black outercoat. Those climates don't get a lot of sun. Camo>catching rays.
Now look up what colour a polar bear's skin is. Hint, we'll probably have some upset poalers on our hands.
