What’s that child doing out at night alone? How come it looks like that kid wears his church clothes every day?

Kid; I am a child of the great depression and so I am short of stature due to malnourishment. I may look 11 years old but I am 14. I got my first paying job at 10 years old and I have been the sole breadwinner for my family for the last three years. I wear my best clothes to and from work every day and when I get to work I change into my work clothes and head down to help dig the subway tunnel. I am getting married next year. I hope the 1950s are a prosperous time so I can afford to move my family out of the city.

You might wanna ask the person who took that picture.

I think that is a very well-known photograph from a set up where they wanted to catch people’s first reactions to seeing a television. I do believe that that child was on his way to work before sunrise.

My point was that it was normal to begin working full-time when you dropped out of school after the fifth grade. Things were different back then. He was happy to be going to work because there was work. The psychological effects of the great depression lasted half a century. That kid likely has a cigar in the inside pocket of his coat. One of my most awkward political positions is that I am a proponent of child labor. Child labor should be formative though, not exploitative. A significant portion of the population should be married by the age of 18.

Edit; I forgot about the super strong no pedo rule on this website. Let me clarify when I say people should marry regularly under the age of 18. I am talking about 16 year old women marrying 17 year old men And vice versa.
