It's an ear muff. It's not a cap. Caps sit on the head. I like the styles of the early 1960s (before the hippies befouled America), but the early 1950s? Maybe too many rocket nosecone bras, too much eye makeup, too much fixative in the hair. Women in the early '50 look plastic.
