You can even watch a movie about it called "The Bounty" starring Mel Gibson as Fletcher Christian, the head mutinist, and his adventures on tanned poon island.
Not to mention all the great books about it, it is a wild story. Fletcher Christian was 1st mate who mutinied against Captain Bligh, and set Captain Bligh and a small group of loyalists adrift in a life raft in the middle of the pacific. Crazy part was that Captain Bligh was such a good sailor they made it back to England. Really wild story, highly recommend reading about it.
Now i think about it - i do vaguely remember the movie now and the earlier original (as a kid) - all i can recall from my then unenlightened mind is that is Bligh was a kind of tyrannical ass - who knows how legit that were - you certainly needed strong leadership on a sail boat, over the other side of world and months away from home and it aint a democracy either.
'Ok boys put your dicks away, we're 6 months in a leaky boat back to blighty'.
