- 1000 BC - The poorest man walked ...and .... the wealthiest man walked.
- 1 AD - The poorest man walked ...and .... the wealthiest man rode in a cart pulled by donkeys.
- 1000 AD - The poorest man walked ...and .... the wealthiest man rode gold covered cart pulled by horses.
- 2000 AD (America) - The poorest man rides in a bus ...and .... the wealthiest man rides in the back of a gold covered car.
I'd prefer to be the poorest man in America today vs. the wealthiest man 1000 years ago. (Or even 500 years ago.)
