A nice honest piece of woodworking. The door doesn't appear to have racked despite the lack of diagonal bracing. This is surprising given its age.
And built in the 1050's. Almost 1,000 years ago.

What does racked mean?
It was supposed that someone had been caught committing sacrilege or robbery in the church and had been flayed and his skin nailed to this door as a deterrent to others.
