It really puts in perspective both the scale of the conflict and why the Allies collectively crapped themselves. For awhile there the Axis juggernaught was gobbling up territory like a fat kid at a pastry shop.

Why oh why did Hitler go to war on the eastern front!? I know, I know, I know. But hindsight? Christ... he knew Napoleon's defeat and the previous defeats Napoleon himself knew about! "General Winter"
