Yep. Their distress message did make it past the jamming. A US carrier fleet heard it and responded. The carrier fleet set way. LBJ issued a recall to the fleet to prevent them from destroying Israel.

Just a reminder, the radio chatter confirms they 100% knew it was a US naval ship. Anyone claiming it was a mistake is a liar.
