It involved earth as some kind of dumping ground for the criminally insane of several different species around the galaxy.
While that may or not be true, anthropological studies suggest that the transition between "cave man" and "modern humans" has taken place in far too short of a timespan for evolutionary processes to have occurred.
Which suggests intervention. Divine or otherwise.

They found plaid in china dating way back. Global cataclysm and flood looks more likely than alien dumping ground. The egyptians talk about the Greeks being much fairer before the flood.
65 million years ago, a spaceship the size of Texas crashed into the earth. The impact was so cataclysmic, it separated two continents and shifted the planet's orbital position. It changed it's axial tilt. It reversed it's polar fields. And it's impact killed all flora and fauna on earth. (But they were just lizards so who gives a fuck?)
It hit Earth north of New Zealand and carved a submarine trench through Terra del Fuego and McMurdo Station in Antarctica. That crash landing changed everything. The aliens who survived that impact are still here.

I would be okay that that honestly. It would be nice to know there's a competent dominant race elsewhere while the inferior ones were on this prison planet. There's so many fucking Muslims all over the place.
