Russia was actually the first nation that made the connection between Jews and Freemasons, 100 years before the Nazis did. They made freemasonry and other secret societies illegal and confined jews to certain lands not allowing them to travel to other parts of Russia, suspecting all of them to be revolutionaries. They were of course proven 100% right. The mistake they made was in not simply genociding all Jews to eradicate the threat (they're literally an enemy nation who has declared perpetual war on you living in your own land), most likely due to Christian qualms.
