I see only protestants being protestants. One side accusing it of being "paganish" (it wasnt in the Bible, but the Bible was written by people, not God), puritanism to its extreme. The other using it as a social weapon to perpetuate slavery (we all know (((who))) were the slaveowners in the south). Both couldnt come to terms with the fact it is the date we celebrate the coming of our Lord. If the date is inaccurate it is irrelevant to the fact it is celebrated this day. If it is Saturnalia, then it should be a date saved to remember our Lord, not indulge in sins. All this while rejecting thousand-and-half years of holy men and women who died in the name of God. For in Protestantism there is no more history, only the now and the Bible, changing to the whims of men and preserving absolutely nothing. Does this sound familiar to you?
