the eagle is for the habsburg empire; the crowns are for the three aztec rulers cortés overthrew (moctezuma, cuitláhuac, and cuauhtémoc); the lion is for his strength, steadfastness, and valour; and the city of tenochtitlan recalls his conquest thereof, his crowning achievement. the chained heads on the bordure represent seven vassals of moctezuma whom cortés defeated, and in the centre are his family arms. the motto means:

the lord judged them in their deeds and strengthened my arm.

Pretty based for a Spaniard

The motto sounds like Martin Luther King Jr.

The man. The legend. We know this to be true not because of his vanquished enemies.

But because of how sjw loathe him so

The judgment of God apprehends them and His strength is corroborated by my arm.

I've read a few accounts that the Spaniards originally were trying to be peaceful with the indigenous but witnessed them perform human sacrifice and acts of brutality with such zeal that they were left in complete disgust and proceeded to wipe them out.

That is the coolest coat of arms I ever saw.
