The real issue there is the demonization of the concept of "work will make you free"...it's not even a profound statement, it's just true. Like...if you told me I could take all the degenerates in our society right now and put them in a camp a "fix them", I'd also put the statement "Work will make your free" up everywhere. That's what they'd need to learn. It's something we need to teach our children. Not work in the corporate slavery sense...more like "Being productive will make you free" It's true!

This is exemplified by the intense decline in health of people after their retirements.

Weird, my health got better after retirement. Must be all that extra time outside and working out.

See you did it right though, many people tend to lose their purpose after retirement…it’s sad

That Primitive Technology guy could live completely on his own based on his own work. Freedom.

I can't imagine a society where a significant amount of people could avoid working. Even in a primitive, African, jungle nigger tribe they'd have to get up and get food one way or another. They're also living at the very lowest level of development. I think the amount of work should be 25-35 hours for the man only. The woman could take care of kids and housework.

I once brought up the concept that people are living beyond their means, and that just pissed people off so much. Well, actually, I brought it up by saying people are spending too much money and living at a higher level of luxury than they should be at. This sort of puts us all in a trap, where we have to keep up with the Joneses as they say. It also doesn't help that if you wanted to pay less in rent, you'll end up living around a bunch of vibrant diversity units.
